Do you accept my insurance?
We are a participating provider for the largest regional insurance plans including: Capital Blue Cross, Highmark Blue Shield, Medicare, Health America/Coventry, Aetna, TriCare, United Healthcare and PrimeSource. In the event that we do not participate with your health insurance plan, we can provide you with the proper medical documentation of your visit to submit your claim directly to your US based insurance carrier. We will be adding insurance plans to our list as patient participation demands. At this time we are currently not accepting Medicaid.
What are your payment policies and what payment method do you accept?
We will submit claims to those insurance companies that we participate with on your behalf for payment. Co-payments are due at the time of your visit. Any claims that are unpaid by your insurer are ultimately your responsibility. We accept cash, credit card and debit cards.
What if I don’t have insurance?
For those without healthcare insurance we offer a reasonably priced alternative for obtaining unscheduled medical care. We will provide appropriate and honest care while keeping you informed of all treatment options and costs. The out of pocket cost of our services will be comparable to office visits but much less than emergency department fees for equivalent treatment.
What should I bring with me when I come to AllBetterCare?
Please bring your current insurance card, driver’s license, or photo ID along with any important medical information. Also be prepared to let our staff know your medical history, current medications and medication allergies.
Do I need an appointment to be seen?
No… we are a walk in facility with no appointments necessary. We make our service available on your schedule, not ours. AllBetterNow is a great way to let us know when you expect to arrive so we can minimize your wait time. We can’t always predict our patient volume at any point in time, however we want your visit to be as convenient as possible and will assist in all ways to speed your care.
When should I go to the Emergency Room?
Our facility is owned and operated by specialty trained emergency physicians. At AllBetterCare we provide medical treatment for conditions of severity requiring timely evaluation but not needing the emergent comprehensive services of a hospital based Emergency Department. Our services page gives a basic overview of what types of medical conditions we treat. The appropriate place for anyone with potentially life threatening symptoms is in a hospital. If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, immediately get yourself to a hospital based emergency department, or call 911 if you feel your situation requires.
- Chest Pain
- Severe shortness of breath
- Weakness, numbness or slurred speech
- Severe headache
- Serious trauma
- Complications of pregnancy
- Severe Abdominal pain
Patients who are found to have unstable medical conditions will be transferred from AllBetterCare to the closest appropriate emergency department if illness severity requires.
We coordinate that transfer, contact the ER directly, and send your medical record to the receiving facility (with your permission).
What are typical wait times at AllBetterCare?
We provide unscheduled care and cannot control how many patients arrive at once or estimate our wait times far in advance. We will always do what we can to manage your wait time and make accessing our services as painless as possible. If we are busy and our wait times are unacceptable to you when you arrive, we’ll be happy to register you for treatment then call your mobile phone when a treatment room is available. The wait time for our services will in almost all cases be much shorter than those experienced in emergency rooms. We will be continually adjusting staffing based on community demand.
AllBetterNow is a great way to plan ahead for your treatment and limit you wait time
Will you be my family doctor?
We provide treatment of medical needs that you identify as needing attention as soon as possible. We are flattered that we get asked this question regularly, but we do not take the place of a primary care physician. Everyone needs a primary care provider for health maintenance, preventive care and chronic disease monitoring. If your family doctor is unavailable or inappropriate for your time-sensitive medical needs, we are there for you every day of the week.
If you don’t have a family doctor or primary care physician and need one for ongoing care, we will provide you with a list of local physicians who are accepting new patients.
What if I need a referral to a Specialist?
For medical problems requiring specialty follow up care, we will refer and assist you in accessing needed follow up with local specialists that we know and trust. If you have received prior specialty care we will coordinate follow up with that physician, send them pertinent medical records and test results and provide you with digital x-rays on CD if needed. Most common examples of these referrals include: orthopedics, ophthalmology, surgery, ENT, dermatology and OB/Gyn.
What if I need a more complicated test like a CT scan or Ultrasound?
Most patients who need these tests need them quickly to establish a diagnosis. We will take care of scheduling necessary testing at a local imaging center, send all documents to the facility, and take care of required insurance pre-authorization. These urgent tests are done on a “Hold and Call” basis- After the study is completed, the radiologist will interpret the study and contact our physician directly to discuss results. We will then speak to you regarding the findings and required follow up care before you even leave the imaging center. Immediate results… Rapid answers… Direct communication– The ABC Difference.
